Manifesto.
In this session we were given the chance to look up close at some of the library special collection of phonebooks and manifestations; all with their own unique way of presenting the work, with the use of carefully thought out presentations an layouts, all ranging with size and the use of paper and binding, if bonded at all. Some were presented in boxes or cloth sleeves of just simply printed and stapled on A4 paper., some in color and some in black and white.
This manifesto is printed on numerous loose sheets of A6 size papers, placed in side this red Brande cloth sleeve. It contains pieces of text, illustrations, I liked it due it being a little more complex in its design and introducing the idea of does our manifesto really have to be a traditional book.
I enjoyed this one due to the simplicity of the structure, it seems like something you could easily mass produce though screen printing. It is a very simply design but is very effective in putting their message/ opinions across.
Thoughts
I quite enjoyed this session as it really highlighted the numerous ways you can present your work for this project, it got me thinking about a lot. Do I want my pages to be bonded? Do I want it to be colorful or black and white? Do I want to experiment with different thicknesses of paper or even color paper? Will I include little fold outs between papers? There are truly more ways to display a 'book' defiantly a lot more than what I thought, so I ma interesting in experimenting with the different layouts in can achieve and the way that it would help me portray the points and works in my manifesto.
